Venture report vs. dashboard report: which white-label report tool you actually need

“White-label report tool” is one search phrase for three different products. Agencies buy all three, but for different jobs, and the wrong one can’t be made to do the other’s work. Here is the split, with each vendor’s own terms as printed on its site on September 4, 2026.

1. Marketing-performance dashboards and reports

What they produce: a dashboard or scheduled report assembled from connected data accounts, such as Google Ads, Meta, GA4 or LinkedIn Ads. The content is your client’s own performance data, laid out in widgets.

Input: connected accounts. No data connection, no report.

Who makes them: AgencyAnalytics (“$20 USD per client / month — billed annually”, white-label branding and custom domain included), Whatagraph (Max plan “from €699 per month, billed annually”, white-label on both plans), Swydo (“€69 per month” with the first 10 data sources included, full white-labeling included), DashThis (from “$44/mo, paid yearly” for 3 dashboards and 15 sources, white-labeled dashboards on every plan).

Choose this when: the client wants to see how their campaigns performed.

2. Written research reports, venture reports and feasibility reports

What they produce: a written, multi-section document generated from a brief, a business description or a client’s inputs, with sources cited inline. The content is research about a market or a venture, not the client’s own performance data.

Input: text. A one-line market brief or a client’s business description.

Who makes them: RaportAgent (a market-research report of up to 10 sections, “€19 per report”, down to €12 each at 30; white-label on its Agency plan at “€220 per month”) and CustomReport (an end-to-end venture report, up to 40+ sections, typically 100+ named sources and 600+ inline citations, generated from a client’s business description; your logo and colors on Pro at $129/month for 3 reports and Agency at $299/month for 10; the free preview generates the first section, no card required).

Choose this when: the client needs a research deliverable they don’t have the hours to produce, and you want it to go out under your brand.

3. Business-plan builders

What they produce: a written business plan in a fixed structure (Upmetrics lists 9 built-in sections), a financial forecast and usually a pitch deck, from the founder’s own answers.

Input: the founder’s inputs, entered section by section.

Who makes them: Upmetrics (plans from “$14/mo” billed annually; white label is a paid add-on, “$249 per month on monthly billing, $185/mo on yearly billing”, not included in any standard plan) and LivePlan (Standard “$20 /mo” monthly; no white-label option is stated on its site).

Choose this when: the founder is writing their own plan for a lender or investor and wants structure and financials.

The one-question test

Ask what the client will hold at the end. A chart of their own numbers: category 1. A sourced document about a market or a venture that you deliver as your own work: category 2. A plan they wrote about their own business: category 3.

For the tools in each category, with plans and prices as printed on their own sites, see The best white-label report tools for agencies in 2026.

Where CustomReport sits, and where it doesn’t

CustomReport is category 2 only. It doesn’t connect to ad accounts and it doesn’t build dashboards. It generates a venture report from a client’s business description, first section in minutes and the full report typically under 30 minutes, and the report goes out under your logo and colors on Pro and Agency. Links are checked live when the report is generated; any link confirmed dead is unlinked rather than left in place. If you need a marketing dashboard, use a category-1 tool; agencies often run both. For the closest category-2 comparison, see CustomReport vs. RaportAgent.

FAQ

Is a white-label dashboard tool the same as a white-label report generator?
No. A dashboard tool visualizes data you connect; a report generator writes a sourced document from a brief. Both can carry your brand; they answer different client questions.
Can a business-plan builder produce a client research report?
Some include a market-research module (Upmetrics and LivePlan both state one). Their core product is the founder’s own plan, and white-label is either an add-on (Upmetrics) or not stated (LivePlan).
What does "white-label" mean on these tools?
On every vendor above it means the deliverable carries your logo, name or colors instead of the vendor’s. Some also offer a custom domain for the client view; the terms above are each vendor’s own, as printed on its site on September 4, 2026.
